Where is your product made?
HatiCon Solar has production facilities on both the North American east and west coast. This decreases shipping costs and transit times. We can meet all “Made in the USA”, ARRA, and Ontario FIT project requirements.
Why are HatiCon Solar racking solutions made of aluminum?
Aluminum is light, non-corrosive, durable, and fully recyclable. Our systems are great for pitched and low sloped roofs where additional weight can necessitate roof reinforcements. Lighter weight also decreases your shipping costs; a material cost of any large ground mount project. Aluminum’s non-corrosive qualities decrease overall maintenance and replacement costs over the lifetime of your installation. At the end of the life cycle of your solar installation, the majority aluminum system is easily recyclable.
Do you have a tracking system?
We offer only fixed solar racking solutions. Fixed systems generally offer better or similar performance on a price per watt basis during a project installation. Over the lifetime of your installation, often 15 or 20 years, the overall maintenance and replacement costs of a fixed system will be substantially lower than for a tracking system.
Do you have a single post ground mount system?
Our two post system requires a shallower embedment depth than a single post system while providing a more solid foundation. Therefore the system can be rammed into a wide range of soil surfaces, cast in concrete or attached with a base plate. Due to the versatility offered by our two post system, we do not currently offer a single post ground mount system.
What is the warranty on HatiCon Solar mounting solutions?
Our warranty information can be found here.
Do you provide engineering services?
Yes, HatiCon Solar can provide engineering services.
How are you related to HatiCon in Germany?
We licensed the technology from HatiCon in 2008 and have exclusive rights to this technology in North America. http://www.haticon.de
How are you related to Sapa?
Sapa, the world’s largest aluminum extruder, is a contract manufacturer for us. We work with a number of their 16 North American locations for both extrusions and components for our systems.

SALES INQUIRIES
What type of systems do you sell?
We design, manufacture, and sell systems for pitched roof, flat or low-slope roof, and ground mount installations. We can also work with partners to provide solutions for carports.
Do you sell directly to the public?
We do direct sales for projects over 100kW. If your project is smaller, please contact one of our multiple distributors.
I have a project over 100kW, who do I contact?
Please fill out our RFQ form and a HatiCon Solar representative will contact you promptly.
I have a project under 100kW, who do I contact?
We have multiple distributors in North America. Links to our distributors can be found here.
RACKING SYSTEM INQUIRIES
What is the longest rail length available?
Rail 13/60, 19/66, and 182/120 can be ordered in one inch increments up to 53 ft. in length. We typically recommend lengths below 40 ft. in length to provide for thermal expansion.
How is the HatiCon racking system assembled?
You can find assembly and installation instructions for our racking solutions here.
How far can I space rail supports (rail span)?
Please review assembly instructions or Wet Stamps for Rail 13/60 span information. Rail spans for ground mount and low slope/flat roof installations must be addressed in a case by case basis.
How should I orient my panels, Portrait or Landscape?
Keeping in mind each installation can have its own unique requirements; Portrait orientation will generally allow more solar panels within a particular area.
PITCHED ROOF
Is there a Wet Stamp for my state?
Links to Wet Stamps are here. If your state is not listed, please let us know via our Contact Form so we can ensure you have all the documentation you need for your project.
LOW SLOPE/FLAT ROOF
Can the diagonal straps be installed before the modules are placed?
HatiCon Solar recommends Diagonal Straps be attached after solar panels have been installed on low slope / flat roof systems. This allows the Diagonal Straps to be installed under tension. Nevertheless, project and crew schedules can require the Diagonal Straps to be installed before the panels. Tension of Diagonal Straps should be checked after PV solar panel installation.
Do you offer a ballasted solution?
While we believe a penetrating system is more appropriate for the long term success of a low-slope / flat roof installation, we can provide a ballasted solution. Please fill out our RFQ form and a HatiCon Solar representative will contact you promptly.
GROUND MOUNT
What is the standard design for an array?
In portrait orientation, two high for framed modules. Landscape orientation for framed modules can be in three or four high depending upon wind and snow loads. The lengths of the arrays can be customized to meet the string size of the modules and inverters.
What is the standard ground clear distance?
Standard ground clear distance is 30 inches.
Can the diagonal straps be installed before the modules are placed?
HatiCon Solar recommends Diagonal Straps be attached after solar panels have been installed on Ground Mount. This allows the Diagonal Straps to be installed under tension. Nevertheless, project and crew schedules can require the Diagonal Straps to be installed before the panels. Tension of Diagonal Straps should be checked after PV solar panel installation.
What foundation options do you provide?
HatiCon Solar recommends the use of our sigma posts for the foundation. These can be rammed into the soil, set into concrete, or precast into a ballast block.
What is the approximate depth of a rammed post foundation?
A post is generally rammed 4-8ft deep depending on soil conditions.
What is the tolerance for post spacing?
Post spacing tolerance is ±2 inches. Confirm with HatiCon Solar engineering for particular projects.
What is the tolerance for sigma post extension?
Tolerance for sigma post extension is ±1 inch.
